Recommended 20 Litre Microwave

We think the Russell Hobbs RHM2076SB digital microwave is one of the best 20 litre models on the market at the moment. It looks great, has 800W power and a range of auto-cook menus (such as pizza). Not only that, but the interior is spacious enough for a standard dinner plate.

20 litres is probably the most popular microwave capacity. There are a huge range of options available from many of the major brands, including Daewoo, Russell Hobbs and Sharp. 20L microwaves are often big enough for most single people, couples or small families, although these appliances usually don’t have the capacity for large dinner plates.

Who Should Buy a 20L Microwave?

If there was a “standard” size for a solo microwave, it would probably be 20L. This is a great size for finding balance between interior capacity and work surface space, making 20L models an excellent choice for small households.

If you want to cook big quantities of food, however, then a 20L microwave may be too small for large dinner plates. 20L microwaves also tend to be solo models, although there are combi and grill models available. A good example is the Panasonic NN-K181MMBPQ combination and grill microwave.

Unlike smaller microwaves categories, there are a huge number of 20L models on the market. Nearly all microwave manufacturers produce models in this category, including Panasonic, Daewoo and others.

When choosing a 20L microwave, there are a few important considerations. Firstly, you should measure your largest dinner plates and check this against the size of the microwave’s turntable. 20L models aren’t small, but the interior capacity may be too limiting for some people.

You should also consider the features of a microwave. Does the model have all the preset programmes that you want? Is it the right colour for your kitchen? Do you want a grill, combination or solo model?

There are new 20L microwaves released on a regular basis, so make sure you keep checking this page for the latest models.
