We haven’t seen many pink microwaves, so we were excited when the new Daewoo QT3 was released in a pastel-pink colour scheme. It’s a compact microwave oven with a 14 litre capacity and low 600W power. On paper, it looks like an excellent choice for a small household or for the occasional reheating job. But does it live up to the high-bar set by it’s siblings the QT1 and QT2? And is it worth the money? Keep reading our review to find out.
Daewoo QT3 Compact Microwave Features
The first thing that hits you about the Daewoo QT3 is the attractive design. We know that the pink colour scheme isn’t for everyone, but the model is also available with a sleek white design (although we have to admit that this a little boring for our tastes). It features the same rounded corners as the Daewoo QT2 and QT1 – in fact, the design is almost identical.
Daewoo have designed the QT3 to be a small microwave that’s perfect for tiny kitchens or saving counter space. We wouldn’t recommend any compact microwave if you regularly cook large meals or have a big family, though – there just isn’t enough internal space. But for reheating small dishes, or if you live alone, the QT3 is an excellent option.
Aside from its appearance, the QT3 has a dual wave system. This helps to cook food more consistently and reduces the chance of cold spots. The microwave also has seven different power levels.
Like most other compact microwaves, the QT3 is relatively low-powered. It’s a 600W microwave, which means food cooks slower than more powerful models. If you’re looking for speed, then we recommend a 800W microwave or higher. Some low powered microwaves also cook foods less evenly, but the dual wave system helps to counteract this problem.
Overview of Daewoo QT3 Microwave Features:

- Available in both white and pink colour schemes.
- Dual wave system for more even cooking.

- Seven power levels so you can use the microwave for a range of purposes.

Daewoo QT3 Reviews
At the time of writing, the Daewoo QT3 has a high average rating on shopping sites, which shows that most reviewers are happy with the functionality and value for money. It is also a slightly higher rating than the similarly priced Daewoo QT2.
Reviewers praise the compact design of the QT3. Many say that it’s perfect for a small kitchen, and one reviewer writes that it’s the smallest microwave she could find on the market. Another mentions that the QT3 is perfect for small meals and provides great value for money.
Other positive comments include that it’s efficient at warming up food and is easy to setup. A reviewer also adds that it’s a great choice for caravans.
One downside of the small and lightweight design is that the microwave can move around when you open the door. This is a minor problem – and unavoidable, really, when building a light microwave – but is something to keep in mind.
Daewoo QT3 Rating and Conclusion
We think that the Daewoo QT3 is an attractive, inexpensive microwave that’s ideal for small kitchens and reheating. While we wouldn’t recommend it for serious cooking – and the microwave doesn’t contain many of the advanced features found on more expensive models – it provides excellent value for money. For that reason, we’ve awarded it four out of five stars.
Will not take a full size dinner plate, best for heating in a dish or tea plate.
